Approach and Philosophy
Both Ceri Machin and Marit Lyngra have a background in Transactional Analysis and integrate aspects of Psychodynamic principles and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy into their approach.

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a theory of personality, providing a map of understanding ourselves and others. TA offers a theory of communication which can help us understand how people express their personality through behaviour and relationships.

TA can be useful when thinking about our behavioural patterns and how we want to change them. It can also be helpful as a tool in exploring our thoughts and emotions. As therapists we use TA to better understand the client and what happens between us in the counselling relationship.

Professional Membership Details
Both Marit and Ceri are members of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and as such adhere to it's code of ethics.

"As a Member of BACP, I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, the Ethical Guidelines for Researching Counselling and Psychotherapy (where Practitioners undertake research) and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force".
